Ted Gianaris filed a class action lawsuit for 600 Bridgeton, Missouri, residents after a 2010 underground fire at the Bridgeton Sanitary Landfill released noxious fumes into surrounding neighborhoods. In April 2014, Mr. Gianaris secured a $6.8 million win for members of the class action lawsuit. The agreement made sure that by accepting the settlement, members would not give up their rights to bring future claims against the landfill for injuries, sickness or death.*
